Help us find the best cup of coffee in Merseyside

There is nothing better than a good cup of coffee to lift your spirit.

Whether you opt for just a single cup in the morning or a whole gallon throughout the day to keep you going, everyone has their own way of consuming one of the country's favourite hot beverages.

Today is International Coffee Day (Sunday, October 1) and in honour of the drink we are on the hunt for Merseyside's best cup of coffee. It will be a tough competition as there is so much on offer, from independent coffee shops like Rococo Coffee House on Lord Street to local chains like Bean Coffee.

But it's not only Liverpool that has plenty of places to pick from when it comes to getting a cup of coffee. Over in Sefton, a huge range of coffee shops like Kiosk Coffee in Formby and Rita's in Litherland provide locals and tourists alike with their fix of a hot cup of Joe.

And Wirral is no different, with dozens of coffee shops ranging from the Flissy's Coffee Shop on the seaside to Benricks in Birkenhead.
