I am Victor Osimhen's 'agent' and he wants to join Chelsea over Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain
Former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has revealed he has become Victor Osimhen's 'agent' in an attempt to make him sign for the Blues. The Napoli striker, despite signing a new lucrative contract in Italy earlier in the season, is expected to be on the move this summer with numerous Premier League clubs interested.
Alongside Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United have all been mooted as potential destinations, although Paris Saint-Germain could instead be leading the way. The French giants are set to lose Kylian Mbappe at the end of the current season on a free transfer as he is expected to join Real Madrid.
As a result of his departure, PSG have made Osimhen one of their No'1 targets to replace Mbappe and they certainly have the financial capabilities to complete a deal. However, Obi Mikel has jokingly suggested he is Osimhen's 'agent' as part of his plans to convince his fellow Nigerian to sign for Chelsea.
Speaking to journalist Ben Jacobs at Web Summit Qatar, he said: «I'm still his 'agent'. I'm trying to get him to Chelsea so I've got 20 per cent of that deal, let's hope it works out. I think there is a genuine interest from both. He loves the club and wants to come to the club, obviously following in my footsteps as a Nigerian player to play for Chelsea, like Victor Moses and Celestine Babayaro.
