Paul Merson has named Liverpool new boy Dominik Szoboszlai as the signing of the Premier League season so far.
Szoboszlai arrived at Liverpool in a £60m deal in July after they triggered the release clause in his RB Leipzig contract. He became the Reds' second recruit of the summer after Alexis Mac Allister.
Mac Allister has made an impressive start to his Anfield career following his £35m switch from Brighton & Hove Albion. But it is the performances of Szoboszlai that have really caught the eye of Arsenal legend Merson.
The Hungary captain has slotted seamlessly into Jurgen Klopp's new-look midfield and before the international break scored his first goal for the club in the emphatic 3-0 home win over Aston Villa. It is a win that means the Reds could hit the top of the table with victory in the early kick-off at Wolves on Saturday.

And ahead of the return of Premier League action, Merson singled out Szoboszlai for glowing praise and made an exciting prediction. Writing in his Sportskeeda column, the Sky Sports pundit said: "The Premier League is back after what felt like one of the longest international breaks in history! The 2023-24 campaign may just be four gameweeks old, but we've already seen a fair share of action and unexpected results, while a handful of new signings have laid down the marker for what's to come.
