Real Madrid midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni (24) has described the Kylian Mbappé (25) saga as a “film” but stated that he had no information pertaining to his compatriot’s future destination.
The Mbappé transfer saga looks to be reaching a conclusion. The Frenchman told Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi that he would leave the club upon the expiry of his contract at the end of the season. Speaking after PSG’s 2-1 victory over Real Sociedad on Tuesday, manager Luís Enrique seemed to confirm the impending departure, stating, “He won’t be here in the near future.”
It seems that Real Madrid is Mbappé’s likely destination. La Liga president Javier Tebas told L’Équipe that he is “99% sure” that he will move to the Bernabeu, whilst multiple outlets in France, notably Le Parisien and Foot Mercato, have reported that an agreement has been reached to join Los Blancos.
If there is an agreement between Mbappé and Real Madrid, his France national team teammate is unaware of it, even if he admitted that he is enjoying the saga. “When I saw he was leaving, I was asleep. I woke up, I saw and I tweeted a popcorn emoji to say: “we’ll see what will happen.” It’s like a film anyway,” he told Canal Plus after Real Madrid’s draw against RB Leipzig on Wednesday.
“If he’ll become a teammate here at Real Madrid, only time will tell. Is it getting close? I don’t know. I can ask if the president (Florention Perez) wants to come and speak to you. We’ll see what he tells you, but we don’t have any news,” added the Frenchman.
