Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has made a swift U-turn regarding his feelings on Arsenal's chances of winning the Premier League this season. Last week, the former England international argued that the Gunners wouldn't win the league title this term if they continue how they were playing.
«We're still only a third of the way through the season, but I think if Arsenal continue how they are, if this is the Arsenal we're going to see this season, I don't think they can win the league,» Carragher told Sky Sports. «I think so many games are going to the wire and sometimes that can go against you — you think of the [Aaron] Ramsdale mistake and the big chance Brentford had in the second half at the weekend.
»Those games that finish 1-0 can easily go 1-0 the other way." Since then, Mikel Arteta's side have defeated Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-1 and Luton Town 4-3 whilst reigning champions Manchester City dropped points, drawing 3-3 with Tottenham Hotspur and losing 1-0 to Aston Villa.
That draw against Spurs seems to have caused Carragher to change his tune on Arsenal's title aspirations, now claiming that they have a decent chance of lifting the trophy in May.
