Jurgen Klopp admits he doesn't know if Thiago Alcantara will play again for Liverpool, insisting there is no timescale on his recovery from a hip problem.
Thiago has featured for just a handful of minutes this season, arriving as a late substitute in the 3-1 loss at Arsenal earlier this month before pulling up with another problem.
It's over a year since the midfielder last started a game for the club and the ex-Barcelona and Bayern Munich star has played just five minutes since April. Now into the final few months of a contract signed in September 2020, Klopp admits Thiago might not feature for what are expected to be the final weeks of his Liverpool career.

"There is no timescale," Klopp said. "I don’t know to be honest (if his season is over). A couple of things, but what he has to do now from a medical point of view and I don’t know if he can play again.
"It is not a short term thing, that's why I am not really in the subject. So I am not 100% in it. It's that not he might be in training in or two weeks, so that is not why I am not in it. I cannot say more about it. I am not sure it is the [exact] same injury but the region is the same."
Klopp also delivered an update on Stefan Bajcetic, who has been plagued by injuries for the past year himself, having featured just twice since March.
