Karim Benzema has provided a warning for any footballers considering a future transfer to Saudi Arabia as his future is again up for debate.

Benzema signed for Al-Ittihad along with Fabinho and others, while the club also sought to snatch Mohamed Salah from Liverpool. The Reds swiftly batted away a late offer in the summer transfer window and since there has remained speculation whether the same club or others backed by the Gulf state will return in future.

The Egyptian's contract situation certainly feeds into the rumours, as by the time he is 32 next summer his current Anfield deal is set to expire. However if the Saudi Pro League looked a feasible destination in Salah's mind, Benzema's latest statement is one worth taking note of.
"We'll see what’s gonna happen," the Frenchman said via Fabrizio Romano, in response to the idea of a return to Europe this summer. "Leaving Al-Ittihad? There are many news, we will see what happens. My focus is here and then we'll see."
