Virgil van Dijk secured the latest of late wins for Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final, heading home in the 118th minute of the game to sink Chelsea and hand the Reds a first piece of silverware for the season.
It was an incident-packed clash between the two sides, with both Chelsea and Liverpool seeing goals scrubbed off for offside either side of half-time in a pulsating encounter.
Raheem Sterling and Van Dijk fell afoul of the technology, with Conor Gallagher and Cole Palmer also seeing their efforts denied by the woodwork and Caoimhin Kelleher respectively.
Gallagher again had a chance to seal it with five to go, but Kelleher was positive and committed to the block, before a late flurry of Chelsea mis-kicks in added time rescued Liverpool and took them into extra time, when Van Dijk proved the Reds' rescuer.
Caoimhin Kelleher - 9
Two seismic saves - denying Cole Palmer from point-blank range in the first half and then Conor Gallagher going through on goal towards the end - won Liverpool the game.
Conor Bradley - 7.5 (BOOKED)
Gets up and down the flank like a gazelle and always provided a threat for Liverpool, especially when switched to a right winger from a full back. Before that, he defended solidly.
Ibrahima Konate - 8 (BOOKED)
An interesting battle with Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson that the Frenchman edged, showing good strength, good reading of the game and a commanding aura.
Virgil van Dijk - 9 MOTM
Great header for the goal that never was - and an even better one for the one that stood deep into extra time. Led by example, guiding a young squad through a tough task. Imperious display.
Andy Robertson - 7.5
Looks back to full fitness after missing three months and this was a decent showing. Made some vital interceptions
