The fiancé of CBS Sports Golazo presenter Kate Abdo has finally opened up on is response Jamie Carragher's on-air joke after the former Liverpool defender questioned her loyalty to him.
Malik Scott, who trained boxer Deontay Wilder, has admitted that he didn't lose «any sleep» over the joke but was upset that Abdo was «irritated» after Carragher playfully suggested that Abdo was not loyal to her fiancé during coverage of the Champions League.
The on-air joke sparked a confused reaction from Abdo, Thierry Henry and Micah Richards. She responded: «Why would you even say that?». The former Liverpool defender privately apologised to Abdo and the programme host passed comment on the next night’s show.
«Does he go too far sometimes? Absolutely. Does he apologise? Yes he does. But all of us have that one annoying family member that we still love and accept,» she said.
Since then, Scott has admitted that he has «high respect» for Carragher's apology, but suggested he would have shown up «in a physical matter» if he never said sorry.
“It's not the first time he's said something out the way like that, but it's the first time he said something in reference to possibly disturbing a household or disturbing a couples chemistry," he told the website Lord Ping.
