Man admits killing council worker Amy Dale in Liverpool
James Witham has pleaded guilty to killing council worker Ashley Dale.
The 28-year-old died after being discovered unresponsive in her back yard in Leinster Road, Old Swan, Merseyside, shortly after midnight on August 21 last year. Detectives previously said that a gunman burst through her door and fired multiple shots "indiscriminately".
One of the shots fatally struck Ashley in the abdomen. Witham, of Ashbury Road, Huyton, is one among five men who have been charged with her murder, the Liverpool Echo reports.

The 41-year-old appeared in Liverpool Crown Court on Thursday (September 21) where he pleaded guilty to the lesser count of manslaughter. He is due to stand trial on Monday, October 2 where he will face the charges of murdering Ashley, conspiracy to murder Lee Harrison, possession of a prohibited weapon with intent to endanger life, and conspiracy to possess a prohibited weapon with intent to endanger life.
Sean Zisz, 28, of Longreach Road, Huyon, alongside Nial Barry, 26, of Moscow Drive, Tuebrook, and Joseph Peers, 28, of Woodland Road, Roby, have pleaded not guilty to the same charges. Meanwhile, Ian Fitzgibbon, 28, of Heigham Gardens, St Helens, is yet to enter please to the alleged offences.
Kallum Radford, 25, of Trentham Road, Kirkby, denies assisting an offender.
