Richard Keys and Andy Gray have piled into the VAR officials after Liverpool’s defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.
The Reds were reduced to 10 men early on as Curtis Jones was dismissed by referee Simon Hooper for his challenge on Yves Bissouma. However, Jurgen Klopp’s side still should have gone ahead through Luis Diaz as the winger fired the ball past Guglielmo Vicario in the Spurs net.
Initially given as offside on the pitch, VAR official Darren England did not intervene or advise that the decision be overturned. There were also no lines shown on the TV broadcast to indicate that Diaz was offside. A statement from PGMOL admitted that a "significant human error" had prevented the goal from standing and giving Liverpool the lead.
Goals from Son Heung-min and Cody Gakpo saw the sides level at half-time and that was the way it stayed, even after Diogo Jota’s red card saw Liverpool down to nine men, until Joel Matip’s dramatic own goal. However, there was no escaping that Liverpool should have been ahead. Covering the game for beIN SPORTS, Keys and Gray were in disbelief that the goal was disallowed.

The presenter added: “We’re always told that offsides are not subjective, they’re either on or off. Well, they’ve made that subjective!”
Gray could not comprehend why
