Hello and welcome to our live blog for Liverpool Under-21s' EFL Trophy clash at Blackpool.
The young Reds made the perfect start to their Northern Section Group A campaign last month when they won 3-0 at Morecambe. Mateusz Musialowski, Calum Scanlon and Bobby Clark got the goals in what was Liverpool's first-ever victory in the competition.
Next up for Barry Lewtas' side are Blackpool, who are managed by a familiar face. Neil Critchley returned to take over the Tangerines in the summer after a stint as QPR boss and as assistant manager to Steven Gerrard at Aston Villa.
Critchley spent six-and-a-half years within the Liverpool academy set-up, managing the Under-18s and the Under-23s, as well as standing in for Jurgen Klopp in the first team during the glorious 2019-20 season, before departing for his first spell at Blackpool in March 2020.
The Tangerines won their opening Group A game 2-0 at Barrow. So something will have to give tonight.
Kicking off at 7pm, Theo Squires will be at Bloomfield Road to provide live updates on the action as well as bring you team news, analysis and post-match reaction.
