Wataru Endo believes his Liverpool side were on the end of a number of 'difficult decisions' during their defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.
The Reds suffered their maiden defeat of the 2023/24 campaign in an eventful and contentious encounter in the capital. A stoppage time Joel Matip own goal secured Spurs a 2-1 victory after Son Heung-min and Cody Gakpo scored in the first-half.
However, the game was riddled with controversy as Jurgen Klopp’s side saw Curtis Jones dismissed during the opening 45 minutes for a tackle on Yves Bissouma following a VAR review. Diogo Jota then followed his team-mate down the tunnel with more than 20 minutes remaining after picking up a quickfire double booking.
While the PGMOL admitted on Saturday night that Luis Diaz's goal was incorrectly disallowed for offside after the VAR mistakenly believed that the on-field decision had been to award the goal. This resulted in Darren England, on VAR duty, despite realising that Diaz was onside, relaying a message of 'check complete' and the goal being ruled out.
