Gary Neville has accused Liverpool of grabbing "defeat from victory" after Jurgen Klopp claimed his side’s game with Tottenham Hotspur should be replayed.
The Liverpool today suggested his side’s Premier League fixture against Spurs, which they lost 2-1, should be replayed due to the controversial decision to disallow Luis Diaz’s goal for offside. The Colombia international saw a goal wrongly ruled out by members of the VAR team, after they failed to overrule the on-field decision.
The Reds officially demanded the audio recordings on Monday, and their request was granted on Tuesday afternoon, with the PGMOL making it public on Tuesday night. Also, immediately after the game, the PGMOL described the call as a 'significant human error'.
And speaking ahead of Liverpool's Europa League clash with Union SG at Anfield on Thursday night, Klopp said he felt Saturday’s game should be replayed because "something like this has never happened". But responding to Klopp’s claims, Neville said the Reds need to accept that they were on the wrong end of a decision and move on.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, the Sky Sports pundit wrote: “Can’t believe how Liverpool have grabbed defeat from victory in their handling of this! They were wronged by a shocking mistake. End of!”
Asked about his change of tone since the weekend, Neville added: "Because of Liverpool's statement escalating it, mentioning integrity and exploring options. Now we’ve seen they want a replay! Thats madness."
