Micah Richards believes Brighton midfielder Pascal Gross should have been sent off for his foul on Dominik Szoboszlai during today's 2-2 draw with Liverpool.
Gross gave away a penalty during the first half for pulling back the Hungarian inside the penalty area, preventing him from getting a shot away to test keeper Bart Verbruggen.
VAR opted against dismissing Gross due to believing Szoboszlai had not been denied a clear goalscoring opportunity, though replays suggest this was not the case.

PLAYER RATINGS: Liverpool player ratings as Mohamed Salah good but two poor at Brighton
Liverpool will certainly feel aggrieved by this decision once they watch back the incident, only adding to the frustration that remains following last weekend's disallowed Luis Diaz goal in the defeat by Tottenham Hotspur
Of the view the match officials were wrong not to send off Gross, Richards said on Sky Sports after the full-time whistle: "I think by the letter of the law, yes [it's a red card]. It’s a clear and obvious goal-scoring opportunity and he should have been sent off by the letter of the law. He’s just about to slide it into the net if he does not pull him. What more evidence do you need? If you look, he’s just going to slide it into the net!"
Liverpool converted the penalty conceded by the German, Mohamed Salah scoring from the spot to put the Reds 2-1 up going into half-time, though Jurgen Klopp's men failed to hold on for all three points due to a set-piece scored by Lewis Dunk in the 78th minute of the match.
