Liverpool boss Matt Beard said he is "sick to death" of contentious refereeing decisions in the Women's Super League (WSL) after his side were denied what looked to be a legitimate goal in the Merseyside derby.
Missy Bo Kearns thought she had given the hosts the lead at Anfield when she applied the finishing touch to a slick Reds move after four minutes. But her celebrations in front of the Kop were brought to an abrupt end when the flag was raised for offside.
However, replays showed the Liverpool midfielder looked to have been played onside by the foot of Heather Payne. "We had a perfectly good goal disallowed which is frustrating because it completely probably changed the dynamic of the game," Beard said after the match.

"I don’t think we deserved to lose the game today. I think the officiating has had an impact on the result. I’ve watched the goal back, the player that is pressing Taylor [Hinds] has kept Bo onside. The frustrating thing is it’s two different blades of grass colour wise.
"I’m just sick to death of it to be honest and it’s not just me is it? I think everyone says it." The Liverpool boss confirmed he had spoken with the officials after the game, though admitted their promise to review the situation would yield little reward for his side.
