'A disaster' - Steve Nicol gives blunt verdict as Liverpool handed new problem
Steve Nicol has raised concerns over Liverpool's defensive options with Kostas Tsimikas set to deputise for Andy Robertson.
The Reds full-back looks likely to have a spell on the sidelines with a suspected shoulder injury. Robertson was forced off on the stroke of half-time during Scotland's 2-0 defeat to Spain earlier this week, after a collision with goalkeeper Unai Simon.
Tsimikas could be poised for an extended run in the starting 11 for the first time in his Liverpool career after failing to usurp the former Hull City defender. The Greek international has shown his capabilities from full-back this week after notching an assist in Greece's win over the Republic of Ireland.
Already this season, he has had runouts in the Carabao Cup against Leicester City plus Europa League outings in the wins over LASK and Union Saint-Gilloise but the 27-year-old struggled in parts in all of his outings.

However, former Liverpool defender Nicol isn't convinced by Tsimikas' defence capability and has raised concerns with the Anfield "Achilles heel".
"It’s not a good time for him or Liverpool, that’s for sure. We have spoken about Liverpool’s back four being their Achilles heel," he told ESPN.
"But one of the better defenders, in amongst an Achilles heel, is Robertson. He has been as consistent as anybody at the back four.
"So, it’s absolutely a disaster for Liverpool. Now, Tsimikas is going to have to play. And he isn’t particularly a great defender.
