Cody Gakpo is in line for his first Liverpool appearance in nearly a month against Tolouse on Thursday.
The Netherlands international hasn’t played since scoring in the controversial 2-1 defeat to Tottenham back on September 30 after hurting his knee shortly before equalising against the north Londoners on the day.
Initial fears were that Gakpo could be sidelined for a lengthy absence but scans eased those concerns and the striker was back in training last week.
After a full return to training on Sunday, the former PSV Eindhoven captain continued his recovery during Wednesday’s open training session at the AXA Centre in Kirkby and he could be recalled as the Reds aim to move up to nine points in their group against the Ligue 1 outfit.
Gakpo appeared to be in good spirits as he went through the motions during the open session and will be keen to get back to action after missing the last three matches.
With Jurgen Klopp expected to make changes for the visit of the French side, Gakpo could be one of those ahead of Sunday’s visit from Nottingham Forest.

In possession of a new contract, Tsimikas will be determined to ensure a Robertson return is not necessarily a no-brainer when the Scotland captain eventually does come back to fitness, which is expected around January time as things stand.
