Pep Guardiola praised Erling Haaland's character for slotting seamlessly into the Manchester City dressing room and hailed his goalscoring sensation as a "humble superstar".

The Norwegian has 80 goals in 84 appearances for the Blues and he settled into life at the Etihad very quickly after his £51million move from Borussia Dortmund, striking up firm friendships with Jack Grealish and Phil Foden. Guardiola revealed that Haaland had become an integral part of the squad off the pitch as early as his first pre-season tour in the United States.

The City boss believes his squad are welcoming to new signings but there is a pressure on new arrivals to fit in, something Haaland achieved without issue.

"It was so quick. Since the first pre-season on tour, he has done it," said Guardiola. "It has happened because the guys embrace the new ones really well but the new ones have to do the step.

But Jack Grealish has been ruled out with injury once again and City are still unsure how long he will be out for.
