The 23-year-old's Old Trafford career has been in tatters ever since he publicly hit back at Red Devils manager Erik ten Hag over his omission from the squad to face Arsenal in September.
Ten Hag told the media that poor performances in training were to blame for Sancho's absence, accusations which the England winger vehemently denied with a bombshell social media post, in which he claimed that he had been made a «scapegoat».
Sancho pinned the post to his X profile for a short while before removing it, but he has been banished from the first-team picture ever since, and neither he nor Ten Hag appear to be backing down in the stand-off.
An apology from Sancho would have supposedly been enough for Ten Hag to bring him back in from the cold, but the feeling on both sides is that too much time has passed, and all parties are working on the winger's exit from Manchester.
After links with Juventus and Saudi Arabia led to nowhere, Dortmund — whom Sancho had a direct hand in 114 goals in 137 games for — showed an interest in reuniting with Sancho on a short-term loan deal.
Ten Hag has remained tight-lipped on the prospect of Sancho returning to the Bundesliga giants, though, and it was recently reported that a deal had been delayed due to the two clubs still thrashing out the finer terms of the transfer.
Now, Sky Sports News claims that the two parties have a broad agreement in place to send Sancho back to BVB, who are keen for the Englishman to join up with their squad for a warm-weather training camp in Marbella next week.
