Vitinha is likely to start ahead of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang when Olympique de Marseille travel to face RC Lens at the Stade Bollaert on Sunday night.
Aubameyang has struggled for form in Ligue 1 this season. Since his summer arrival from Chelsea, he has performed well in European competition but has failed to replicate that form domestically. The Gabonese forward missed the midweek victory over AEK Athens with injury and whilst he returns to the squad this weekend, he looks unlikely to start. Vitinha, who himself has not started the season in electric form, will start in his place, according to L’Équipe.
The only major new absentee is Valentin Rongier. The OM has suffered a serious injury, according to manager Gennaro Gattuso, and he is therefore set for a prolonged period on the treatment table.
Pau Lopez; Renan Lodi, Leonardo Balerdi, Chancel Mbemba, Jonathan Clauss; Jordan Veretout, Geoffrey Kondogbia; Joaquin Correa, Amine Harit, Ismaila Sarr; Vitinha.
