There have been clear indications of where Arsenal appear the most likely to strengthen in the summer. There are needs in the squad and areas which can certainly be upgraded.
With all the strikers that have had their names linked with Arsenal, it is clear that centre-forward is indeed an area that Mikel Arteta might want to find reinforcement. Eddie Nketiah’s future remains uncertain and despite having recently signed a new deal, the lack of game time will surely be a point of contention.
Other areas include the wide position, in particular depth and competition for Bukayo Saka. Central midfield could see Thomas Partey join Mohamed Elneny through the exit door – the latter of whom sees his deal expire in the summer.
In defence the exit of Cedric Soares means there are seven senior defenders and an optimal number would be eight with the likes of Jorrel Hato and Ousmane Diomande having been linked to the club. Lastly, if Aaron Ramsdale is to leave, the Gunners are sure to want to replace him this summer.
However, there have been some interesting links to Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White. According to theDaily Star, the Gunners are monitoring his situation with the City Ground club facing financial scrutiny and potentially in need of selling players.
Arsenal already have several players who can play in the attacking midfield roles such as Martin Odegaard, Emile Smith Rowe, Fabio Vieira, Kai Havertz and Leandro Trossard. Young starlet Ethan Nwaneri is another coming through who is incredibly well thought of too.
