Viktor Gyokeres on Arsenal transfer list as Edu refines striker search with seven more assessed

Arsenal are following the progress of Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres closely and hold an interest in the Swedish international ahead of the summer transfer window, football.london understands. The 25-year-old fulfils plenty of the characteristics that the Gunners are looking toward this summer.

Having scored 36 goals and added a further 14 assists across all competitions, the former Coventry City man has propelled himself amongst the most highly-regarded players in Europe right now. Arsenal see the centre-forward position as a primary area of focus in the summer market, but Gyokeres is not necessarily the only player the club is assessing.

Sources have explained that the top young striker category is the parameter to which they have narrowed their search. This would encompass a number of forwards across the world's top leagues right now but also potentially exclude several previously talked about players.

Ivan Toney is a key one with football.londonhaving reported in early February that a winter move was not as likely as had been suggested elsewhere. Furthermore, a move for the England international in the summer also looked all the more unlikely with Toney no longer fitting the profile the club have switched to.

22-year-old Santiago Gimenez was one mentioned at the beginning of the campaign and with 24 goals this season, he too is likely to be on the list of monitored forwards. Evanilson of Porto who faced Arsenal in the Champions League has 22 goals this season and the 24-year-old has added six assists to his tally too.

Ajax's Brian Brobbey, 22, has 28 goal contributions, Lois Openda, 24, has 27 goal contributions, Victor Boniface, 23, has 24 goal contributions whilst Victor Osimhen continues to be mentioned although
