Jurgen Klopp's call for Liverpool's match with Tottenham to be replayed following an error by VAR has been mocked by Gary Neville.
The Reds left the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last Saturday, having suffered their first defeat of the season, with a huge sense of injustice.
The Anfield club were on the wrong end of a few decisions but were most incensed by a monumental mess-up by VAR which resulted in Luis Diaz's legitimate goal being chalked off.
Speaking ahead of Liverpool's Europa League clash with Union SG, Klopp said he felt the match - which finished 2-1 in favour of Tottenham - should be replayed.
Sky Sports pundit and ex-Manchester United defender Gary Neville took to X, formerly Twitter, to criticise Liverpool's handling of the situation.
'Can’t believe how Liverpool have grabbed defeat from victory in their handling of this!' he wrote. 'They were wronged by a shocking mistake. End of!'
Liverpool officially demanded the recording on Monday and their request was granted on Tuesday afternoon, with referee's body PGMOL making the audio tape public on Tuesday night - which showed officials knew of their huge mistake immediately but still did not stop the game.
Neville had initially been sympathetic to Liverpool's anger and even credited the German manager for his considered remarks post-match but has since hit out at the club's ever-increasing demands.
The 48-year-old called the Reds' statement on Monday that called for 'escalation and resolution' to the failure to spot the correct decision, a mistake.
