Noel Gallagher has recalled the time in which he first met footballing legend Ronaldo in nightclub in Ibiza.
As an avid football and Manchester City fan, Gallagher has been no stranger to watching some of the best talent on the planet.
During Oasis' prime years one of the greatest players to have graced a pitch was in his pomp, with Ronaldo dominating European football.
The striker played for top sides including Barcelona, Inter Milan, Real Madrid and AC Milan, with his name one of the sport's most iconic.
Those lucky enough to meet him will undoubtedly be starstruck in his presence, with Gallagher certainly no exception.
Speaking to talkSPORT, he revealed his first encounter with him and how the two-time World Cup winner emphatically addressed himself.
«I met him in DC10 in Ibiza, anyone who's listening to this will know that DC10 is hardcore,» he said on Drive.
«He was kind of in the side of the club and he had a baseball cap and I was like, 'I'm sure that's Ronaldo.'
»So I went over to him and I went, 'Are you Ronaldo?' And he went, 'I am the real Ronaldo.' I was like, 'Mate...'
«He was great and I've bumped into him a couple of times at the Etihad and he was brilliant, a real placid kind of guy, there doesn't seem to be any ego about him at all.»
With Cristiano Ronaldo another legend to share such a name, Noel's nightclub may well have said his line to assert his stature in the game.
He scored 298 goals in 454 competitive appearances across seven clubs, making him one of the most prolific players in history.
Amid an abundance of honours including La Liga and UEFA Cup titles, he also won the World Cup with Brazil in 1994 and 2002.
Ronaldo is also one of five players to have won the Ballon d'Or on two occasions, doing so in 1997
