Peter Schmeichel has slammed one Manchester United player for his involvement in Brentford's equaliser.

Erik ten Hag's men were held to a 1-1 draw by the Bees after defender Kristoffer Ajer's 99th minute strike at the Gtech Community Stadium.

The defender's goal came just three minutes after Mason Mount opened the scoring for his first goal in United colours

And Schmeichel was left unimpressed with Aaron Wan-Bissaka's role in the equaliser,

'Ivan Toney would have been offside had he followed the back-four line up and then that goal wouldn't have happened,' the former goalkeeper said.

'Look at him [Wan-Bissaka] coming out! Look at it!

'That's not Manchester United, that's not pride, that's not high standards. That's not focussing on what your job is.

'He has cost – not to blame him for this – but in that moment, because of what he did, or didn't do, a simple thing like concentrating, they equalised.'

The draw in west London saw United's hope of securing Champions League football take a massive hit.

Earlier on Saturday, Aston Villa beat Wolves 2-0 to bolster their hopes of a top four finish, whilst Tottenham turned it around to beat Luton Town 2-1.

Unai Emery's side have arguably the toughest test midweek with an away game at Manchester City, while Spurs travel to local rivals West Ham and Man United travel to the capital to face Chelsea.

Despite dropping points, ten Hag believes that his side can still make the Champions League next season.
