It's a big weekend in the football calendar as the FA Cup third round commences. Following the introduction of Premier League and Championship sides at this stage of the competition, Ange Postecoglou's Tottenham take on Burnley at home on Friday evening.
Having exited the Carabao Cup at the first time of asking in late August, Spurs will be intent on avoiding another early elimination as they look to go all the way and secure at place at Wembley come May. An opportunity for Postecoglou to tinker with his Tottenham XI, the 58-year-old unfortunately has limited options to choose from due to the amount of injuries at the club and also because of international commitments.
So who exactly will Postecoglou name in his Tottenham team for the 8pm kick-off in north London? Our Tottenham Hotspur reporters at football.london have named the team they would select to take on Vincent Kompany's Clarets below.
Ange Postecoglou will have to decide between giving some players the chance to play some minutes but also not falling into the trap of weakening his Spurs team to a degree that they exit the last cup competition they can win.
Fraser Forster will have warranted some game time and he needs to be kept sharp in case Guglielmo Vicario misses a Premier League match or two. I'd like to see Ashley Phillips or Alfie Dorrington given some game time as their chances of senior minutes are likely to be limited soon by the return of Micky van de Ven and then Cristian Romero as well as the arrival of a new centre-back.
Destiny Udogie needed a bit of treatment late in the game against Bournemouth and Postecoglou might give him a rest with Emerson Royal on the left if he uses a young defender or Eric Dier alongside Ben Davies.
