Goals from Nicolás Dominguez and Morgan Gibbs-White, either side of Marcus Rashford's strike, ensured all three points for the hosts at the City Ground.
For Forest, it saw Nuno Espirito Santo extend his brief but brilliant start at the club after securing a 3-1 win against Newcastle in his first game in charge.
For Erik ten Hag's side, however, the result sees them lose ground on the top four spot, with the Red Devils winning just one of their last five league games.

Onana - Nottingham Forest had two shots on target and scored two goals however their was little that the Cameroon international could've done for either. 6
Wan-Bissaka - Offered little going forward and struggled defensively at times and, arguably, could have picked up a better position for the second goal. 5
Varane - Seemed the most composed of the United back-line but was caught out by Elanga at times, once conceding a cynical foul. 6.5
Evans - A solid performance from the veteran however he was let down by his midfield. 6
Dalot - A decent showing from the full-back who Forest's enjoyment down the left-hand 6
Mainoo - A quiet showing from the youngster in the first-half before being replaced by Scott McTominay at half-time in a tactical switch by ten Hag. 5
