Le Parisien are reporting that Randal Kolo Muani (24), Achraf Hakimi (24), Ousmane Dembélé (26), and Layvin Kurzawa (31) face suspensions for an anti-Olympique de Marseille chant in the wake of Paris Saint-Germain’s 4-0 victory in Sunday’s Le Classique at the Parc des Princes.
Kolo Muani registered his first goal for the club in the rout, whilst Hakimi also got on the scoreline. The team went over to celebrate the victory over their arch-rivals with Warren Zaïre-Emery taking a megaphone and chanting with the club’s ultras. Whilst there was nothing untoward said by the France U21 captain, footage from Free Ligue 1 shows Kolo Muani, Hakimi, Dembélé and Kurzawa chanting “Marsellais, unique ta mère,” which roughly translates to “Marseillais, go fuck your mothers.”
According to Le Parisien, the league are going to open a case file and look at the images ahead of a meeting on Wednesday. If the events are proven, the players in question could be the subject of sanctions, including the possibility of a suspension. In 2011, during Marseille’s victory against Montpellier, OM defender Taye Taïwo was suspended for one match for a similar anti-PSG chant.
