Jamie Redknapp has lavished praise on Jurgen Klopp and his 'incredible' refreshment of Liverpool's squad, likening him to Sir Alex Ferguson.
The pundit, formerly a Liverpool player, has been taken aback by just how quickly Klopp has positioned the Reds as title challengers after a summer overhaul.
Liverpool saw key players Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and Roberto Firmino all poached by Saudi Arabian clubs and lost others on free transfers such as James Milner.
They were beaten to big money targets in the form of Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo by Chelsea - but their alternative recruitment has got Anfield roaring.
Dominik Szoboszlai, Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister and Wataru Endo have revitalised the midfield and Redknapp expressed his admiration.
He told Sky Sports: 'This has been an incredible rebuild, to be in this position right now and how he's turned it around, Jurgen Klopp.
'From looking like a team I didn't quite know where they were going, I was thinking two or three years before Liverpool can challenge again. To get them in this position just shows you how good Jurgen Klopp is.
'Alex Ferguson was the best at it. He would always reinvent teams, bring in new players. Jurgen Klopp is showing that quality very quickly this year and I'm so excited by this team.
'I just don't see how Manchester United can keep them out. I just think Liverpool have got too much for them.
'I think Liverpool right now, they've got the bit between their teeth, they're playing well.
'Going forward, where Manchester United are so weak defensively, Liverpool are so strong.'
