Ruben Amorim says he can't guarantee he will stay at Sporting Clube de Portugal when quizzed about his long-term future amid links to Liverpool.
The Portuguese has been installed as the new favourite to take over from Jurgen Klopp after Xabi Alonso expressed his intentions to remain at Bayer Leverkusen next season. Alonso had emerged as the early contender following Klopp's announcement earlier this year that he would be leaving Anfield.
Amorim meanwhile, is claimed to have two different release clauses for clubs in Portugal and those outside of the country and could reportedly be available for around €15m (£12m). He is under contract until 2026.

"No, I can't guarantee that."
When will you make a decision on your future?
"Sporting are taking care of their future and I can't make a decision because I have given my word so I can't go back on it, which is if we don't win titles, I will leave the club.
"That has always been very clear since the beginning and it was something I thought was important to tell my players because we have to win. First we'll win titles then we can decide [the future].
"But that's not something that concerns me because the future has been planned by the club for some time. We are outlining all the situations and everything we want for next season and that is the main reason as to why I can't guarantee it.
