Tottenham news: Yves Bissouma's impressive start to the 2023/24 season continued on Friday with a fantastic assist for Mali against South Sudan
Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Yves Bissouma continued his remarkable club form with his country with a fine solo run and assist in Mali's 4-0 win over South Sudan.
Bissouma has enjoyed a terrific start to the season in north London under Ange Postecoglou. He has been immense in all four of Spurs' opening games, forming a strong partnership with Pape Matar Sarr and James Maddison.
Now with his country, Bissouma started the game on Friday evening on the bench for Eric Chelle's side. The Spurs ace came on shortly after the hour mark, replacing AS Monaco's Mohamed Camara.
And despite his defensive ability, the 27-year-old showcased his tremendous work-rate and attacking prowess will an impressive assist. After receiving the ball inside the box, he beat one defender before selling the same player and goalkeeper at the same time with a dummy.
Instead of delivering the pass, Bissouma then teases the South Sudan goalkeeper and uses sensational close skill to send the goalkeeper to the floor.
The Spurs man tops the moment off by looking up and squaring for RB Salzburg forward Dorgeles to tap the ball into the empty net. Bissouma's impressive assist has earned him plenty of praise by supporters on social media.
