Rob Edwards believes Luton and Bournemouth will always have a special bond after Tom Lockyer's cardiac arrest last Saturday.
The Hatters captain collapsed in the second half of the game against the Cherries, leading to the players being taken off the pitch as he received treatment and the game later being abandoned.
The tie is now set to be replayed.
The 29-year-old has since been discharged from hospital after having an Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD) device fitted — the same device Christian Eriksen has following his cardiac arrest at Euro 2020.
Luton also stated their star's cardiac arrest was different to his previous collapse in the Championship play-off final in May when he suffered atrial fibrillation.
Everyone inside the Vitality Stadium united to support Lockyer, with the Luton players and staff, including a visibly upset Edwards, returning on to the field to clap the fans after the game was called off.
After going through what would have been a terrifying situation for all involved, a shaken Edwards has now given talkSPORT an emotional recount of just how proud he was of everyone, as he described what was going through his mind as the situation unfolded.
«I'd never been around that before,» the man who led Luton to promotion last season said. «I suppose you don't know how you're going to cope or how you're going to be in those situations.
»But it doesn't really matter how I was, or how I coped in that situation. What mattered was the medics and they were unbelievable.
