Thijs Dallinga will join the selection of the Dutch national team on Tuesday.
National coach Ronald Koeman has called up the Toulouse FC attacker after a medical examination in Zeist on Monday afternoon showed that both Steven Bergwijn and Brian Brobbey cannot be deployed in the coming international period.
This is the 23-year-old Dallinga's debut in the Dutch selection. After the earlier withdrawal of Nathan Aké (Manchester City), the group now consists of 23 players.
The Dutch team will play the penultimate qualification match for the 2024 European Championship in Germany on Saturday. Ireland is the opponent in a sold-out Johan Cruijff ArenA in Amsterdam. Three days later, Tuesday, November 21, the match with the still winless Gibraltar is scheduled in Estádio Algarve in Faro (Portugal). Both matches start at 8:45pm Dutch time.
As for Ireland, Jamie McGrath has emerged as an injury doubt, along with Evan Ferguson, after he missed Aberdeen's 6-0 loss to Celtic overt the weekend.
"Jamie picked up a hamstring injury, he will go for a scan on Monday and we’ll see where he is with that,” confirmed his manager Barry Robson.
“It’s frustrating as Jamie has been one of our best performers of late, he is a big miss to the team.”
