Owen Hargreaves has compared the current Arsenal team to the great Manchester United side he played in under Sir Alex Ferguson.
Mikel Arteta's team are chasing a Premier League and Champions League double this season as they seek silverware success for the first time in four years. The Gunners currently lead the top-flight table on goal difference ahead of Liverpool and Manchester City as they look to win their first league title since 2004.
Arsenal also face Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-finals having drawn the first leg 2-2 on Tuesday night. The second leg will be played at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday, April 17.
If the Gunners were to win the remaining two trophies on offer this season, they would match the feat achieved by United's 2007/08 side. That team won the league title by two points and beat Chelsea in the Champions League final on penalties.
And Hargreaves has shared his belief as to why the two teams are similar. He believes the current Arsenal side do not have any weaknesses akin to the United team he played in 16 years ago.
«This Arsenal team reminds me of the United team we played on,» he told TNT Sports. «We were very lucky and blessed to have everything. We could play the possession game, we could outscore you. Defensively, we were very good.
