Cape Town City head coach Eric Tinkler is hoping for more consistency from the man in the middle against Richards Bay at the King Goodwill Zwelithini Stadium on Sunday.
Kick-off is at 3.30pm CAT (SA, GMT+2)
The Citizens beat Kaizer Chiefs 1-0 at the FNB Stadium in their last DStv Premiership encounter to go three games unbeaten and move up to sixth place after collecting 13 points from their opening nine fixtures.
However, City bowed at the first hurdle in the Carling Knockout following a 3-1 defeat to Golden Arrows in Mpumalanga last Saturday, with Tinkler lamenting the performance of the referee.
He questioned the decision of the match official to award Abafana Bes'thende a penalty early in the second half, which was converted by Nduduzo Sibiya, but then deny his team a spot-kick for a similar incident.
"Not to be... It couldn't be if there wasn't a certain person in the middle of the field not really giving us a chance," Tinkler said in his post-match interview.
"I think as coaches it's hard to accept. If you're going to give a penalty for a specific reason and then it happens the same on the opposite side then you have to also give a penalty.
"You can't choose which ones you want to give. Consistency is extremely important; we didn't see that consistency."
