Ange Postecoglou will have certainly enjoyed his start to life as Tottenham Hotspur manager but the Australian will hope he can get his best XI out on the pitch more consistently during the second half of the campaign.
Due to injuries and suspensions, Spurs have been unable at times to keep up the high standards they set themselves during the first months of the season. But there is still hope around the corner as January brings with it the return of key players and the chance to sign new ones in the transfer window.
That's why we've decided to go through what the strongest Tottenham starting XI could look like after players get back from their injuries and assuming there is at least one signing coming through the door in north London next month.
Starting in goal, Italian shot-stopper Guglielmo Vicario has taken to the Premier League like a duck to water and has impressed massively since his move from Empoli over the summer. Nicknamed 'Venom' by his former teammates for his supernatural reflexes and intensity on the field, Spurs are likely delighted they have seemingly found Hugo Lloris' long-term successor at the first time of asking.
Pedro Porro was signed to play as a right wing-back in Antonio Conte's 3-5-2 system, so the switch to 4-3-3 under Postecoglou this summer raised questions over how the Spaniard would fit in. But the 24-year-old has done excellently after becoming an inverted full-back this season, being a mainstay in the Premier League.
At centre-back, the partnership of Christian Romero and Micky van de Ven is the strongest that Spurs have right now. The pair started the season excellently alongside each other before being broken apart due to suspension for Romero and an injury to Van de Ven in November.
