Tottenham takeover prediction made as Daniel Levy stance suggested
Former Tottenham Hotspur defender Alan Hutton thinks his old club may be sold in the near future. Takeover talk has been swirling around the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for a while, with chairman Daniel Levy saying last month that Spurs' owners would consider an offer for the club.
Qatar Sports Investments, the owners of Paris Saint-Germain, have been linked with a move for Tottenham amid suggestions that Levy had met his QSI counterpart Nasser Al-Khelaifi earlier this year. Liberty Media, who hold controlling stakes in Formula One and the Atlanta Braves baseball team, have also been credited with an interest as has the legendary rapper Jay-Z.
Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamad Al Thani had been tipped to make a move for Spurs if his bid for Manchester United failed. Sheikh Jassim has since pulled out of the race to buy United, prompting speculation that the Qatari banker could try buying Tottenham.
Hutton, who spent two years at Spurs after signing from Rangers in 2008, has said that a takeover could put Spurs on the path to success. «When it comes to Tottenham and Daniel Levy, the owners have been there such a long time, would there come a point where they think about selling up? Probably,» he told the website Football Insider.
«The owners have done excellently since they have been at the club, you look at the work Levy has done and it's amazing. „Talking about trophies and stuff, it could be better.
“Is the next level for them a move like this? Possibly, to then really go and try to make this squad even better than it already is. „It will be an interesting one.
