Trent Alexander-Arnold sets Liverpool return date in Premier League title race with Arsenal
Trent Alexander-Arnold is hoping to be fit for the match against Manchester United at Old Trafford on April 7 as the Premier League title race with Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City reaches boiling point.
The right-back has been training hard during the international break at Liverpool's Kirkby base, and manager Jurgen Klopp thinks he could be ready to play against United. Klopp is keen to have more experienced players available as they seek to avenge their recent FA Cup defeat to their rivals.
Alexander-Arnold has been sidelined since early February due to a knee ligament injury. He might be fit enough to play against Sheffield United three days before the United game, but time is running out.
He won't be playing in England's matches against Brazil and Belgium because of his knee problem. Despite this, his excellent performances for Liverpool mean he could still be included in Gareth Southgate's squad for the European Championships this summer, reports the Mirror.
In a recent chat with FourFourTwo, Alexander-Arnold, the vice-captain of the Reds, said: «In a different era and different generation, I'd have played much more for my country. However, I'm a firm believer in my own ability, what I bring to a team and what I can do on a football pitch.
»I still believe I've got a big role to play with England, to go and help the team win silverware — whether I play every minute of a tournament or I play no minutes at all in a tournament.
