Arsenal transfer news as centre-back Auston Trusty continues to be linked with a return to the EFL after his impressive loan spell with Birmingham City
Arsenal defender Auston Trusty has been linked with a move to Championship side Ipswich Town. The USMNT centre-back is wanted by a number of clubs having impressed with Birmingham City last season.
The 24-year-old made 48 appearances last term, scoring four goals and being awarded the player of the year award for his outstanding displays. Despite his performances, Trusty has been one of the names expected to leave Arsenal this summer.
Now, according to various reports, Trusty could be on the move sooner rather than later. The East Anglian Daily Times have claimed that Ipswich are keen on his services, as well as a number of players. The Guardian's European expert, Nick Ames, has also claimed that the Gunners are in no hurry to conduct a deal yet.
Ipswich know exactly what they would be getting from Trusty. Birmingham manager John Eustace heaped plenty of praise on the left-footed defender, saying: “The way he has adapted has been exceptional as Auston didn't know the Championship. He's been a pleasure to work with, his training standards have been very high, he never misses a day, and I think he's taken to the level quite easily.
“You can see he's going to go back to Arsenal as a Premier League player.”
