What James Maddison and Harry Kane have done to improve Tottenham bond that Spurs fans will love
James Maddison and Harry Kane are now club teammates as well as international teammates. And Tottenham supporters will be hoping that partnership continues throughout the 2023/24 season.
Maddison signed for Spurs in a £40million deal from Leicester City this summer, while Kane has been the subject of plenty of transfer speculation once again, with Bayern Munich making no secret of their desire to sign him.
Bayern have reportedly had two bids rejected out of hand by Spurs chairman Daniel Levy and honorary president Uli Hoeness has even admitted his confidence at completing a deal. Speaking to Sport 1 he said: «Harry Kane has clearly signalled in all conversations that his decision stands — and if he keeps to his word, then we'll get him, because then Tottenham will have to buckle.»
Tottenham have no intention of selling, while Kane has no plans to force a move away from the club. In fact, football.london understands that Kane remains open to all options — moving away this summer, leaving on a free in 2024 or signing a new contract with Spurs during the coming season.
Spurs fans will be hoping a friendship with Maddison could encourage Kane to stay put and the duo are clearly hitting it off as teammates now.
Out on the club's pre-season tour of Australia, Thailand and Bangkok, Spurs players have enjoyed some downtime today after yesterday's 3-2 defeat to West Ham United in Perth. And Maddison and Kane have been together — on the golf course.
