Luis Diaz's father has warmed the hearts of Liverpool supporters after he was spotted celebrating his son's goal against Luton Town on Wednesday night. Despite going behind inside the opening quarter of an hour, Jurgen Klopp's side stormed past the Hatters 4-1 at Anfield to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League.
Chiedozie Ogbene put the newly-promoted outfit ahead, handing Luton the advantage at the break. After a slow start, Liverpool launched out of the block in the second half, with Virgil van Dijk and Cody Gakpo firing the Reds into the lead shortly before the hour mark.
Diaz etched himself onto the score sheet moments later before Harvey Elliott added to his tally in stoppage time. When the Colombia international found the net, the TV cameras spotted his father – Luis Manuel Diaz Jimenez – celebrating in the stands.

A clip of Diaz's father, who was donning a short-sleeve Liverpool shirt and a pair of black gloves just like his son, quickly went viral on social media. Jimenez has become an Anfield fan-favourite since he was freed in November after being held hostage by a guerilla group in Colombia.
Diaz's father had been held hostage for nearly two weeks by members of the National Liberation Army, or ELN. Upon his return, Jimenez said: "I thank Colombia for this great support. Very soon I will have the opportunity to greet them and give them a hug. Thank you very much, my people.
"There was no offer of resources, there was no need, everything was done legally, thank God, they did not request any resources, but that did not happen."
