There is a bizarre situation set to unfold tonight as England take on Scotland in the Women’s Nations League, live on talkSPORT.
The British rivals clash in their last group game, with the Lionesses needing a win to have a chance of booking their place in the finals.
Scotland are already out of the competition having failed to win a single game but curiously there's still a reward for Pedro Martínez Losa's side should they suffer another defeat.
And it is all due to the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics.
Team GB still need to qualify for the games and the only way they can is for their nominated nation to reach the Nations League final.
The nominated nation for Team GB’s qualification is England.
That means that the Lionesses need to reach the final, and there is only a chance of that happening if they beat Scotland tonight.
Of course, because Team GB will include players from all countries in the UK, some of Scotland’s squad can be called up for the Olympics.
Therefore, they will have to lose against England this evening to keep their own personal hopes of playing at the games alive.
