'Wonderful' restaurant announces immediate closure after seven years

A Merseyside restaurant has closed with immediate effect.

Vietnamese restaurant and takeaway Alo Pho, on Town Lane, in Bebington, has closed after seven years in business. Management at the independent restaurant announced the news "with a heavy heart" and said that they have made "cherished memories" over the years.

Speaking to the ECHO, manager Annie Nguyen said: "We just want to say how grateful we were to have the opportunity to introduce and showcase the best of Vietnamese cuisine to the local community. And we will be forever grateful to have been a part of our customers most cherished memories. This is something we will never forget."

She added: "Of course we want to mention that we would not have made all this possible without our staff and support from other neighbouring businesses. We wish everyone success and good health for the new year."

The news was announced on Pho's Facebook page, in a post which reads: "It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of Alo Pho effective immediately. We would like to thank all our wonderful staff and customers for being part of our legacy over the last seven years."

Regulars have expressed their sadness at the closure in the comments under the announcement, one person said: "So thankful that I got a nice meal in your place the other day.... You will be missed."

Another added: "This is such sad news! You will be missed so much! Thanks for introducing us to the amazing food of Vietnam." While a third said: "This is such a shock - our favourite place to eat on the Wirral not only for the wonderful food but also the warm welcome
