Ange Postecoglou handed double transfer instruction for Tottenham to win Premier League title

Former Tottenham goalkeeper Brad Friedel has highlighted the two areas he believes Ange Postecoglou must reinforce in the January transfer window if they want to keep up their Premier League title challenge.

Spurs have made their best start to the season since 1961, having taken 20 points from their opening eight league matches and are yet to be beaten inside 90 minutes. The only stain on their record so far this season has been an early Carabao Cup exit to Fulham on penalties but that will only reinforce their commitment to a strong finish in the league.

It comes as the club were naturally written off by many ahead of the season as their talisman Harry Kane left in a dramatic move late on in the summer. However, they've been a surprise package that has taken the top flight by storm, thanks in many parts to Heung-min Son.

The South Korean, often hailed for his partnership with Kane over the past few years, has now been left to his own devices as a solo striker for Spurs in Postecoglou's system. While Richarlison has popped up with a few goals of his own, it's a spot in the squad where they are lacking in depth with summer signing Brennan Johnson currently out injured.

Now former shot-stopper Friedel claims that's one of the only places they can really upgrade before they are in with a serious chance of challenging the likes of Manchester City and North London rivals Arsenal by taking the title race down to the wire.
