Arsenal learn potential Champions League quarter-final opponents as Porto test looms

Arsenal have now learned four potential opponents for the Champions League quarter-final- should they get past Porto.

The Gunners trail 1-0 going into the second leg at the Emirates Stadium next week. Galeno scored a stoppage-time time for Porto in the first leg at the Estadio do Dragao last month to secure the advantage for the Primeira Liga club.

Mikel Arteta and Co. have a free midweek as they prepare for a return to Premier League action this weekend against Brentford. After that, all attention will be on the second leg in North London against Porto where a place in the quarter-final is up for grabs.

Four ties took place across Tuesday and Wednesday, while Arsenal wait for their second leg until next week. Bayern Munich returned to winning ways to record a 3-0 victory on the night against Lazio to overcome a 1-0 deficit from the first leg and will be in the draw for the quarter-final.

Paris Saint-Germain also secured their spot in the last eight with a 2-1 victory away at Real Sociedad to win 4-1 on aggregate. Kylian Mbappe and Co. will be potential opponents for Arsenal should they beat Porto next week.

Wednesday saw Manchester City record a convincing 3-1 victory over FC Copenhagen to win 6-2 on aggregate. Elsewhere, Real Madrid got past RB Leipzig with a 1-1 draw to win 2-1 on aggregate.

That means Bayern Munich, PSG, Man City and Real Madrid will all be in the draw for the quarter-final. Arsenal will be looking to join them, with four more spots available next week.

Three other ties are taking place next week in the Champions League last-16.
