Arsenal tipped to sign Premier League wonderkid who has already said his goodbyes

Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Brayden Clarke is reportedly set to join Arsenal after bidding farewell to his teammates on social media.

The 16-year-old has impressed for the West Midlands club and has already featured for Wolves' U23s. In March 2023, the Welshman was called up for his country's U17 squad for the European Championships and is understood to be well thought of at Molineux.

However, Clarke is moving on to a new challenge having posted a goodbye message on Instagram. In the post this week, the teenager wrote: «After seven years at Wolves, the time has come for me to move onto a new chapter.

»I want to thank everybody who has helped me along the journey and I wish all of my teammates at Wolves the best of luck for the future." At this stage, it has not been confirmed where Clarke is moving to but The Secret Scout understands the Gunners have won the race for him after tabling an offer.

They claim it is likely the youngster is moving to the Emirates Stadium with Arsenal having warded off competition from four other unnamed Premier League clubs. In addition to Clarke's goodbye message, the defender's profile on the Wolves website has also disappeared.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will hope Clarke shall be able to make the jump from the academy to the first team as his career progresses at the club. When asked at the beginning of last month whether any youngsters were in a position to make the leap at this stage, the Spaniard made an honest admission.
