Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino welcomed back a few of his key players during his side's 2-2 draw against Arsenal on Saturday afternoon. Reece James and Nicolas Jackson were both named on the bench and would come on to make late cameos, with the club captain having already missed a significant chunk of the season with a hamstring injury.
Benoit Badiashile and Axel Disasi were also both named in the matchday squads but weren't used in any capacity, having been firm injury doubts before kick-off. England Under-21 star Cole Palmer also quashed any injury concerns the Blues might've had after his knock during the international break after he put away a penalty to give the Blues an early lead against the Gunners.
However, with Pochettino now looking directly in the face of an incredibly difficult fixture schedule, there are vital players he'll be missing. So, with that being said, football.london has taken a look at the latest news from the Blues' treatment room.
James returned to the matchday squad against Arsenal and was brought in with just over 10 minutes to play as the Blues attempted to see out the game.
What Pochettino said: «I think we want to keep a little pressure and not only say okay, we are going to protect the result. But in the end, when we change with Reece and Noni, two minutes before that we concede a goal. It was a little bit unlucky that is the type of situation that happens in football and we feel sad but in another way we are very positive because we showed great character and personality and the team performance was really good.»
Jackson has been seen training with the team ahead of the game against Arsenal. He did undergo a minor operation on his wrist during the international break, but he seems fine.
