Cowell was also called up to the US roster for the CONCACAF Nations League semi-finals
Chivas' 'Cowboy' Cade Cowell received a call-up this Friday from coach Marko Mitrovi to join the United States Olympic National Team's preparation matches throughout March.
The aim is to secure a spot in the squad for the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris 2024.
In a press release, US Soccer unveiled the 22 players selected for the USMNT to compete in friendly matches against Guinea (on March 22) and France (on March 25), both to be held in Europe.
These matches mark one of the few tours the Olympic team of the 'Stars and Stripes' will embark on before their Olympic debut.
Cowell, demonstrating consistent excellence in Mexican football since his arrival this semester, has also earned a call-up to the US squad for the CONCACAF Nations League semi-finals.
«In Mexico, striker Cade Cowell has capitalized on his January move to Liga MX giants Guadalajara. He has scored four goals and provided one assist in 13 appearances, including one against America on March 13 in the CONCACAF Nations League,» stated US Soccer.
The opponents for the USMNT are yet to be determined, as the draw for the men's tournament is scheduled for next Tuesday, March 20.
