Chelsea's Supporters' Trust have demanded that the Premier League reverse their decision to schedule the club's league clash with Wolves on Christmas Eve.
The Premier League have been finalising their schedule for the festive period, and have opted to put Chelsea's trip to Molineux on Christmas Eve, making it the first top flight game to be held on this date in 28 years.
Chelsea fans have been left angry at the prospect of facing a lengthy journey to the Midlands just before Christmas, and have called for the Premier League to reconsider.
The Supporters' Trust statement read: 'It is totally unacceptable that Wolves v Chelsea has been scheduled for Christmas Eve.
'Since rumours began to circulate on this issue, the Chelsea Supporters' Trust has been clear that selecting this kick-off time will place another hurdle in the way of many matchgoing fans. Not only could this lead to staffing issues at Molineux, but holiday transport timetables will further inconvenience supporters.
'On Tuesday 24 October, we requested an urgent meeting with the relevant decision-makers within the Premier League. We expect that this meeting will be held very soon, alongside the Wolves 1877 Trust, and the Football Supporters' Association.
'The Chelsea Supporters' Trust will formally request that the Premier League properly consults supporters on this issue and that they reverse this decision.
'We will provide a further update to CST members in due course.'
The statement received plenty of support from fellow fans online, with many commenting on social media to show their opposition to the Premier League's scheduling.
